The Science Behind Soothing Ingredients

The Science Behind Soothing Ingredients

In skincare, simplicity often reflects thoughtful formulation. At Optaderm, one example of this is a combination of three ingredients you’ll find across many of our cleansing products:

Acetyl Dipeptide-1 Cetyl Ester, Allantoin, and Vitamin E Phosphates.

Each ingredient has its own function, together they form a soothing complex designed to calm the skin and provide antioxidant protection.

Understanding the Ingredients

Acetyl Dipeptide-1 Cetyl Ester is a peptide known for its calming properties. It helps reduce visible signs of skin discomfort, making it particularly useful for sensitive or stressed skin. You may notice that on some labels or product descriptions, we simply refer to this ingredient as “peptides.” This is for clarity and ease of reading—but rest assured, the full name is always listed in the ingredient list, as it should be.

Allantoin is well known for its ability to comfort and soothe the skin. It helps soften rough texture and supports the skin’s natural renewal process, contributing to a smoother, more balanced appearance.

Vitamin E Phosphates offer a stabilized, more bioavailable form of Vitamin E. This allows it to integrate effectively with the skin, where it helps defend against oxidative stresses—one of the key contributors to premature aging and barrier disruption.

Together, these three ingredients offer good soothing benefits:

  • The peptide helps calm irritation
  • Allantoin supports comfort
  • Vitamin E Phosphates provide antioxidant properties

A Thoughtful Approach to Skincare

Richard’s belief is these ingredients reflects a broader philosophy: skincare should work with the skin. By incorporating this soothing ingredients into multiple formulations, Optaderm provides consistent support—helping the skin remain comfortable over time.

Ingredients that are well understood, carefully selected, and designed to support long-term skin health.

Science for the skin you’ll love for life.
